Vocre uses web-standard ports for all communication (ports 80 and 443). When using Vocre in a school, the workplace, or other public network, it is possible that your firewall is blocking these.
If the only part that isn't working is the voice output (you're not hearing the translation spoken back), then there are 2 likely possible causes:
1) The device's system volume is too low (you can adjust this by pressing the volume up button on the side of the device at the same time as you are tapping the speaker button in the app).
2) Depending on what the target language is, we might not have a voice output option yet. These languages are denoted with a light-grey crossed-out speaker icon in the language list, and there will not be a speaker button in the translation view. Languages which don't yet have a voice output option are: Croatian, Malay, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. We plan to support those languages once Apple adds support in iOS.
